James goes home today...well, no that isn't strictly true. He is heading down to London to get the Eurostar to Paris......where he will pick up his Emirates flight back to Melbourne.
I asked if he could not have amended his ticket and flown out from Manchester.
He said he could have done, but it would have cost him an arm and a leg......but it would have given him an extra day with us.

While he has been here we have had the very best weather. I am pretty sure when he goes home and people talk of Manchester, and mention that it is always raining there he will set them straight.
I hope he will tell them what a beautiful city it is....and chockful of bargains.

I am just sorry that because his visit was so short, we didn't get to take him down into the Ribble Valley,or the Trough of Bowland.......Pendle Hill, Sabden..witch country.
I would have loved to take him to York....show him some of the history.......and he would have loved a trip over to Blackpool...though I can't say I would have been mad keen to take him.

He is due to come back in December.....but then the weather won't be so kind,or the views as stunning as they would have been.

So I feel like he hasn't even had a taste of the character of Lancashire(yes, I know York doesn't fit into that category).....and I am truly sorry about that.
I will just have to plan things better for when he comes back later this year.

Marg I am sure he had a brilliant time and appreciated everything that you did for him.
I understand that you wanted to do more though as there is so much to do!!! :D

December........ dont matter a jot, History is yon 12 months a year, n the trough n such spots look just as good in winter imho.;)

They do when the sun shines, but remember when he comes in December he will certainly feel the cold as he will have left temperatures in the region of 30 degrees C.......so he may not want to go to the windy hills of the trough.....and the view from Pendle can be in question because of the wintry mists......we will have to find other more suitable pursuits........and save the outdoorsy stuff until he comes back again this time nest year.

am pretty sure any aussie worth his salt, aint a tart, so winter should be fine, unless of coarse its you.:D:D:D:D

course it is me Cashy...you know that your blood gets thin as you get older.
I shall have to put two vests on! Kinda kills the romance....:D who am I trying to kid?

He was moist eyed as he left us........and he left his jacket at the house so he had to come back. I got another hasty hug.
I didn't go to the station as I hate 'goodbyes'....before he left I told him it was only au revoir until December.
