Impossible Dream

Fair enough - I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. Andy Williams may not be intimidating but to me neither is the Joe Pasquale/Kermit sound alike :)

I'll get more accepting when Celtic Cross make it a public share for the enthuiasts....as Joni Mitchell once wrote " ..and played real good for free.."

Never seen all the words for Cart On Stanley before.

I love it, especially the last verse, hopefully bringing the whole town together.

Cart On Stanley is the new rock 'n' roll!

Me & my brother started a song in the main stand against Forest and got the strangest looks imaginable! ...like we were singing for the opposition...in swahili.

My friend took his daughter and nephew and where told to shut up as they where making too much noise, I ask you what is their problem. Maybe for one game some of the more vocal fans should go in the stand, could be interesting.:)

Depends on what sort of noise they were making. If they were chanting racist rhetoric and crying "Sieg Heil" in conjunction with goose-stepping up and down the stand, then I'm not surprised they were told to be quiet.

Nice one TM that made me smile, fair point.:)

They are 10 and 12 and where singing Stanley are back.

I was actually serious. :wacko8:

So was I, someone has offered me their ticket in the stand to see if I could make them sing:D

Do I detect a troubling trend here? Everyone who goes to the Stanley must do the same thing i.e. sing. Next thing you know we'll all be wearing blue uniforms and carrying a little red book.

TM's right Main Stand dwellers ain't gonna want to sing, fair enough

I'd just like to see them react to what happens on the pitch sometimes. The bottom corner near the changing rooms never moved when Toddy skinned the full back. I watched them motionless

Watched the same at Aberdeen v Hibs & when that happened you saw life in the home support. Some raised fists, some shouts of "go on"

It really IMHO would make the place a harder place to get a result. I know JC has noticed it. A miss placed pass gets noise (groans) & a piece of skill gets nothing

However, they pay their money its up to them I suppose

Don't worry I will not be taking up the ticket offer, the Clayton End is where I watch my football and I'm not one of the Songmasters just a singer. The fact does remain TM that one of your own feels the need to make a point with the ticket offer because in his words, "I am sick of people constantly slagging off our players why don't they occasionaly offer encouragement in the way of some vocal support, I saw those two kids being told to shut up last week and I was disgusted they are the clubs future". There is a lot more written in the e-mail but I think the point has been made.

Eh? I don't sit in the stand and never have. I always stand on the Whinney Hill terrace and more than once I've got into an 'argument' with people when they've been shouting abuse at players. One day I'll get myself in trouble. ;)

on the subject of music n stuff..... anyone else agree that drumming at lincoln were a bit bloody good :-)

What music and stuff? Are you attempting to change the subject?
Anyone who was there knows that the Lincoln drummer was crap:)

Edit: Sorry the thread is about music and stuff.

He was god awful, worse than me Me and Matt put together. Aldershots lads know how to play drums :)

I know there is not enough noise from the Main Stand most of the time but it's certainly not quiet around the area we sit (just ask Dan :))

I thought the drumming at Lincoln was very good, it got the crowd going. The Aldershot drumming was better though.

I still think that the drum added an amazing atmosphere on the terrace, one that can't be replaced just by purley singing and clapping.
