And don't forget the senior executives of the Fortune 500 companies ... you know, the ones who fly to DC in their private jets in order to beg for money.
I remember reading somewhere in Noam Chomsky about the two American govts.: The "provisional", which is elected every four years; and the "permanent", which is the one we are talking about here.
But I do have the feeling that something will be different about Obama's presidency ... this is a major change .... maybe I'm overly optimistic; but this change is dramatic .... and it has come about remarkably quickly; when I was growing up in the 60s them good ole boys was still lynchin' niggas in Mississippi, and getting away with it ...
Eric , come on , enough with the white liberal guilt . wheres the outrage on Black on Black death , but thats okay I guess . Why do we never see any outrage or action from the Black community on this issue unless it involves some heavy handed action by a white cop , then the law-suits start flying free and fast .
Hope things do change with Obama, understand the first phone call to a foreign head of state was to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and he plans to use Sen George Mitchell (Ulster peace talks) as a peace broker (seems Tony Blair is not up to snuff) but lets all remember one thing , the guy is human , he's not the Messiah returned to earth as some think .He's not some comic-book superhero in an action movie.
Also I'm a bit disappointed to see so many of the same re-cycled political hacks in his cabinet , most of whom have never held a real job in their lives

No guilt involved ... just an observation of fact ... you must remember that the only way whites who murdered blacks in the south ever got convicted was on civil rights violations ... and I am aware that one of the leading causes of death among black males is homicide.
I realize that Obama is not the "messiah"; but I am happy to see that the Americans are now following Canadians by electing an intelligent man to the nation's highest office.
