That I spend the whole day in bed......but I have done today.
I was up at Ma's on Thursday and was congratulating myself that I had seemed to have escaped getting any of the winter bugs that have been doing the rounds.
I have normally had a couple of bouts of a bad chest by this time of the year.
I said to ma it must be all these oranges I am eating...the Vit C is killing off the bugs.
Then in the early hours of Saturday morning I woke up with that tight chest feeling and a dry tickly cough........I got up and took some cough mixture but never really got back to sleep again.
We went off on the bus to Manchester...our Saturday routine......and I felt cold and shivery all day......I just could not get warm.
We came home early and I felt proper ropey.
I had a shower to see if that would warm my frozen entrails......and went to bed about 8pm...figuring that I would be warmer under the duvet...but no.....still shivering.
I put the electric blanket on for about 10 minutes and that seemed to do the trick......I drifted off to sleep but had some very wild 'fever' dreams.......I woke up and was burning up......I checked to see if I had left the blanket on......no, it was turned off.
I checked my temperature...it was 39.5.......this called for action.......belladonna and a cool drink.......it took quite a while to be affective.
I woke up this morning feeling bad.....aching bones, two mad mustangs inside my head doing pasa doble's........I went downstairs had a cup of tea(which tasted vile) and a slice of toast(which wasn't much better)....and told himself that I was going back to bed as I felt ill.
I have to be better for tomorrow as I am going with Ma to Weston Super Mare....I wish it was next week.
You really need to be in good fettle to be pushing that wheelchair around.....and that is something I am definitely not at the moment.....in fine fettle.
