January Window

According to Andy Holt on "X" we are still expecting a couple of players in before the window closes. I understand the frustration from Posters. However, for clubs like Stanley creative midfielders (play-makers) are more expensive and more difficult to attract/sign/loan than ANYOTHER position in a football team, including 20 goal a season strikers.

Maybe that's the problem?

In my opinion, Ben Woods and maybe Dan Martin, both players who "look-up" before making a pass and could become potential playmakers. However, they would have to be coached to achieve that role. Dan isn't getting on the pitch and is out of favour and Ben Woods is often played out of position as a wing-back (to which he is totally unsuited and looks vulnerable when he has to defend anywhere near our box).

Just my thoughts.....

Any sign of them? Not much time left.

You're like "a kid on christmas eve Gregor".

Maybe they've gone elsewhere?

No guarantees in the football world........I'm hoping for a couple of talented loans......a striker and a proper winger........but then I'm often disappointed, so we'll just have to be patient you and I.

Attacking midfielder of the sort we have been missing, but will we see him start as such?
Doubt it. Expect him to be a bench player brought on up front when we are chasing.

Quite a busy transfer window compared to previous years under John and Jimmy. Plenty of options to win us the 7 games we need to win get to 50 points. 19 games to do it.........

It had to be busy, given that we lost three starters.
Plenty of options, yes, but will they make us better?

I hope and believe that Benn Ward could be a good signing. Loanee Joe O W could compete with Hunter for a spot but on paper a weak squad has become weaker. Maybe Charlie C can get fit and be given a chance.

Morecambe and Harrogate games could make or break us.

Good signing! At least on paper.
He and O’Brien Whitmarsh give Doolan the opportunity to abandon the destructive 8 defenders - 3 attackers principle that he has applied so far.
Don’t think he will, though.

Is anyone else finding it impossible to view the three interviews about and with Conor Grant on the ASFC ‘fishy’ web site?
When I click on the item, there’s no video.
Just watched Ged’s post Banfam interview, so no problem there.
