Not being a Stanley fan I was actually surprised to see just how small a squad Stanley have when I saw it in the Observer

Was probably the Football League dictated we enter for the paint pot. I don't think we get a choice.

I'd be amazed if any club made money out of the paint pot unless they get to Wembley, in fact I reckon some would even make a loss. I agree with Jeff, I think it's compulsory.

Sheff Wednesday got around that last week by making all their subs in the first 19 minutes, their manager said 'you have to start with 6 first teamers but it doesn't say in the rules that you have to finish with them' Mind, his ever so slight bending of the rules didn't do 'em much good, they were beaten by Bradford if I remember rightly
