Just remind me......

Just remind me.......is it the eight of November?
So that must mean that Christmas is something like six weeks away.
Already, I am sick of Christmas adverts.
The Co op telling me that 'Christmas is just around the corner'.
Ant and Dec sat at a Christmas feast....extolling the virtues of Morrisons.
The surreal M&S advert......Alice in Wonderland?
What has this to do with Christmas.
DFS and CSL tell us that if we order our neww suite this week it will be delivered for Christmas.
Oh, and there are more......Tesco, Asda, Aldi are all vying for our coins.
Booze, turkeys and toys...I'm sick of them.

I'm not a fan of Christmas. So another six weeks of this and more seems all too much.

There was a phone in debate on CBC radio this aft. The point argued was whether Christmas promotion and decorating in stores before Remembrance Day (Nov.11) is an insult to all veterans. I'm inclined to agree as I think it's disrespectful. Christmas has lost it's meaning for so many.

Christmas adverts should not start until the first of December...after all the shops are open every single day on the run up to Christmas...and late night openings for many shops too - I cannot recall such a frenzy on the run up to Christmas when I was growing up...and the shops closed for a half day every Wednesday and were shut all day every Sunday...how on earth did we manage?
It is overkill and diminishes the enjoyment for many.
This year I might just not 'do' Christmas at all.
