I've had such a wonderful time here in Cornwall and it's going to be a wrench to go back home. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to seeing 'im indoors, being in my own place and having my Jack Russell back, our Top. It's just going to be so hard to leave my daughter, my three grandchildren and all my mates behind. Anyway, I'll let you know what I've been up to!
Sam and I were really naughty during the Easter weekend, her children were with their father, so we spent most of it down the local pub. It appears that, at some point, I was out on the patio singing along with Barbra Streisand. As I'm tone deaf that must have been pretty grim!
We did get our sensible heads on by the time the children came home and how lovely it was to see them!
Jamie, almost twelve, is such a young lady now, Martin, nine, is a lovely lad. He doesn't seem to have a bad bone in his body and we have really bonded this time. Little Maisie, aged three, is a proper sweetie.
Now, what else? We had a day in Looe, I love it there, another down St Austell at the market and I've been to Plymouth a couple of times.
In fact, I caught the bus there today to meet up with my bestest friend in all the world, our Hazel. I do enjoy the journey. The bus follows the coast road through villages called Crafthole and Portwrinkle and then on to the Torpoint Ferry into Plymouth. Not bad for £4.20 return!
Hazel and I had a real good natter. I haven't seen her for over three years so we had a lot to catch up on. We went for a pub lunch and then she walked to the bus station with me. I've been wondering what folk thought of two grannies, hugging each other and crying. Sad or what?
A lazy day tomorrow, after I've taken Maisie to the swing park and then Exeter Airport here I come!
