Got a matted black/grey kitchen worktop, with a massive scratch in it. Anybody got any ideas how to repair this or at least cover it up. Thanks.

There is some coloured filler available for this. I chipped my worktop and it works ok.
You just spread it over the scratch, wait for it to dry, then remove the excess with acetone, (nail varnish remover).
Hope this helps.

PS You should be able to buy it from Homebase. I got mine from S & H Kitchens on Abbey St, Accrington.

 Oh Bu**er, who did it then.......I really do hope that jelly baby’s suggestion works otherwise you could have a piece cut in? Depending on where is it…….. :)

Don't do the washing up often Vorlon, that's why i have a hubbie and kids.

Thanks for the info jelly baby.

Have to hold my hand up Doug, it was me. It's not trastic enough to get a piece cut in, shall have a look at homebase at the weekend.

I'd be wary of doing that because it may stop the filler sticking when you come to do it properly.
I did say temporary! Wax will melt with boiling water & clean it out at the same time. Obviously exercise extreme care with the hot water.

Thanks for all your replies. Haven't got round to doing anything with it yet, but off for two weeks come Friday so shall sort it out next week. (Unless we get a heatwave lol)
