I'm not an obsessive fan, but I do think it's fantastic that the woman has become the biggest selling female artist in history. Her knack of reinvention, and having her finger right on the layest craze is amazing. Here is a woman who is a couple of years away from fifty, and a mother of two, who is still very much at the top of the musical tree after over two decades.
Her new single sounds as if it is late Abba mixed with disco. Her look is that of an extra from Debbie does Dallas, all very up to the minute fashion wise, with her retro satin shorts and flicked hair. Her ability to change her image has been fantastic. From grunge to Goth, from Helmut Newton domanatrix to Earth mother.
As long as she keeps looking great, and making such contemporary music, I won't feel old.
