I slept well last night. I woke when the alarm went off at eight, but it took me two more hours to get out of bed. I think it may be a good idea to keep my first lots of pills next to the bed with a glass of water. I'm supposed to do my first lot of exercises in bed, but it was exercise enough to just get out of bed today. A lot of the offical advice is to have a satin sheet to help you slide out of bed, I don't really fancy that idea, or think I am in need of that just yet.

All that I have to do today is make sure I get my card and present to Mum, as it's her birthday tomorrow. It seems unbelievable that a year has passed since she was sixty. Last year we took thirty friends and family out for a big meal. Since then both Phoebe and Aunt Ros have died, and now my Uncle is very poorly. It does make you realise how precious time is.

I have a big pile of ironing to do, but I think today is calling me to waste some of the precious time. An afternoon curled up on the sofa in front of the fire, watching a good film, sounds preferable to tackling the pile of ironing.

Happy birthday to your mum. I have slept from 9am until 3pm today, and it looks like it may have been a good sleep day. The ideal day for curling up on the sofa with a good film on the box..
