Friday 13th march.
BIOPSY DAY. We went into dan 9am he was supposed to be going down at 10am to theatre , jet &
i had not had much sleep, her none , sorry sweetheart ... i did tell you i snored , so we were both
tired & weary & very very stretched to the limit ... i said i needed a brew & went to the day room &
had a hot chocolate & dam well fell asleep on the couch in there, i woke up after about 1/2hr &
found jet outside on balcony dan had just gone down this was about 11ish so off we set to walk to
the shopping centre in northfield we needed some micro meals for our tea, had a bit of a scout
round & came back put food in fridge & went to restraunt for our lunch, went back & sat outside till
dan rang jet with allsorts of weird mumblings as you do, we went into him led there all comfy & ok,
he mumbled a bit of nonsense for a bit had drink of water & finally told us that they had gassed him
oh did we laugh, but things were ok he kept nodding off & eventually we left him to sleep,
went back into day room & met some nice men in there 1 who had had an op there a few weeks
earlier & his neighbour who had brought him, he could not praise this hospital enough which did
help us both. We then went back into dan who was feeling fragile by this time , got him some liquid
morphine , & he seemed to calm down then , he got changed into his jim jams & went to sleep again
we woke him up just 5 mins before tea to tell him we were going for tea.
We came back after tea only to be told that his surgeon & been again & had explained what they
had done & what was happening next. We really only got half the story off him but the nurse who
was with mr jeys his surgeon when they explained things to dan came & told us.
Dan is not going home tomorrow , he has to have x-ray on a lump on his forhead which jet had told
them about the day before & has been there for about 4 weeks,
esther when she had explained what was going on said they would take the biopsy & then they send
things off to be processed to see what it was ,but that we would not find anything out this tuesday
as it was Friday so it would be the Tuesday after, 24th march, so we assumed dan would be home on
the Saturday 14th .
WELL we were told that we would find out the results this Tuesday coming, oh no more shocks as the sister explaind about ewings malignate sarcoma ..numb completly numb,. so i did try to hang onto something by asking again what happens if its benign & was told the same as esther had told us the day before ... now dans is a very aggressive bone cancer ......oh god bless him.
jet & i disscussed a strategy & i got her to bring me home Friday night dan was ok with this so we arrived home 10-30pm last night absolutely worn out.
