What kind of problem are you having?
whatever it is there is a universal cure
1 : enter bios and selct boot from cdrom as primary boot device
2: insert windows xp disk and follow the instructions
3: ill get my coat![]()
You usually set a user name and password during installation - you sure you didn't set one?
Have you tried leaving them empty and pressing enter
You should have selected a username though, Ubuntu uses this as the name of your /home folder IE /home/Retlaw.I've never set any passwords on this computer, never given a choice of selecting one during instalation, tried every thing, even xxxxx and ?????
won't let me in.
Retlaw.
sounds like you may have a faulty disk if it keeps spitting it out at teh same part of teh instalation as thats what happens if a disk is faulty it tries for a while to read the disk but eventualy gives up and spits it out or just spins endlesly
NO after I had installed a new DVD reader/writer it didn't spit the disk out, It just failed to get past section or part 4 of creating a separate partitiion, for Ubuntu to work in, thats why I eventually let it install within XP.

Have a look HERE
usually if you get the disk sent out thier is the password and things on the case the cd came in thats what was on mine when i got mcafee with my dell pc the code and stuff was on the mcafee case
Sorry MCR ADIM, but Linux is free, no need for codes to activate.
Just noticed one thing on the disk cover, This Desktop Edition wil not run on Intel x86 systems (including Intel Pentium, Intel Core and AMD Athlon)
So its virtually useless to me anyway.
I've uninstalled it, and cleared the registry out as well.
