Loooong day!!!

I am working a long day tomorrow 7.30am until 9pm. I hate long days but it's a case of needs must. Had a rather heated discussion with one of our consultants this morning regarding the lack of staff in our unit. Her complaint was that we are unable to bring inductions to delivery suite due to lack of staff to look after them. Although I agree entirely I ended up saying that it is impossible to conjure staff out of thin air. Our managers are sick of us going to them on a daily basis complaining about poor staffing. We know that there are vacancies but the higher echleons will not release the money for them.

The upshot was that I suggested that maybe the consultants should be approaching management, as it is obvious that they are taking no notice of us. I think I will just chill in front of the telly tonight with a glass of wine and the phone off the hook and pretend that I work somewhere else.

Had a letter from University today asking me to go to a meeting about my dissertation. I am not starting it until January and I will be doing it alongside another module, so it's going to be donkey work. I am beginning to wonder what I've let myself in for. Seeing that I've no idea whether I've passed the last one or not, I think UCLAN are being a bit premature in inviting me to a dissertation meeting. Our results are due at the end of this month. I don't think I'll bother turning up for mine because I'm convinced that I have failed it. I wouldn't mind but despite being away for a month I still managed to get the work in on time. Everyone else in my group made excuses and got extensions.........

Life's a bitch sometimes.

Lettie.....I don't envy you one little bit. Consultants!!! who'd have 'em.

I am sure the staff at UCLAN must have some faith in your ability...so you should too.
Go to the dissertation meeting - that way you will be one step ahead.......and you can start plannning in your head......and psyching yourself up.
