I had an early night last night, I was exhausted after running to the loo every few minutes and drinking nothing but water all day. I made a makeshift nappy out of an old towel, honestly.....I was terrified of falling into a deep sleep and cr@pping myself while I slumbered. Needless to say, I had no accidents and did get a good nights sleep.
I feel a bit better today, the abdominal pain is a lot less frequent and the trips to the toilet are less frequent too, but I do have a splitting headache and all my bones are aching too. I have even risked taking the dog for a quick walk this morning, I reckoned some fresh air would do me good. I am supposed to be going on a Christmas do tonight with my old team, I was really looking forward to it but don't feel fit enough or brave enough to go and eat a 3 course meal with wine. I have had to ring Claire who has organised it and cry off. I have also risked a cup of coffee and some toast so far today, I was starving and it was the best brew and toast I've ever had. I foolishly tried to eat a piece of toast yesterday tea time which resulted in more griping and a prolonged toilet visit.
In view of being a bit peeved about the Christmas do, I decided on some 'me' time today. I had loads to do today, Asda, going to Preston to hand in the assignment, ironing, getting ready for the do... All of that has gone out of the window now and it can wait until tomorrow. I have put my Christmas tree up instead, it looks pretty and I think it will cheer me up a bit. My mate Lorraine is going to cut my hair at 2pm, she has a toilet and is only 5 minutes away so I reckon that I am safe going there. I am going to write some cards later and wrap some more of my pressies, so in other words non strenuous activities and plenty of drinks.
The ironic thing is that today and tomorrow are my days off anyway, so I'm basically sick in my own time. I'm hoping to be ok for work on friday, but I want to give it at least 24 hours after stopping running, just to be on the safe side. It's at times like this when I sometimes regret living on my own. It's great to be independent and not have to be beholden to anyone else, but it's a whole different ball game when you're ill..
