Mobile Phone

Mick

Resting in Peace
Overlooker
On friday morning at about 4am i got up to go to the loo and thought i would take the mobile and see what time it was as it has a big clock on it and i would not wake anne as i would not need to put the light on.
BIG mistake as i walked into the bathroom i banged my toe on the scales and jumped my mobile jumped out of my hand right down the loo:(
so i put the light on and fished it out it was in a leather case but dripping wet .
so i took it apart and left it on the top of telly to dry out thinking new mobile ,i have just put it all back togeather and its still working :D yipee

That was very lucky. I saw something on the "Gadget Show" about this. They said that most mobiles will still work if left to dry naturally & hadn't been in the water for too long.

:D

I really thought it would be dead and i would need a new one
i had only had it 6 weeks too

They really are hard to kill. I once had to leave mine in a pan of water for 3 days before it completely died.

:D

Slinky !! its funny after dropping the mobile down the loo i did not feel like going hehe:)

For future reference Mick, try opening your phone & using the display light as a torch. lol

:rofl38:

Think i'd better explain.

I needed a new phone, so i thought i claim on the insurance. Unfortunately, after reading through the small print i realised that the best way (only) was to claim for water damage. I soaked it in water so that i couldn't be repaired.

I had a Motorola Star Tac flip phone, these had become obsolete, so they had to give me vouchers for a new model.

:D

Always read the small print when getting insurance

3 weeks without a phone, but it was worth it.

Accyjay, admitting to insurance fraud on a public forum??? not that clever matey! plus its people like you who put my insurance premiums up!!

If that's the case, I bet he's glad he didn't hit the 'send picture to all my contacts' list before it dropped in the loo :camera8:

With sound effects ....... psssssssss *purmp* "ahh better out than in" pssssss pss sss pssss

......... :rofl38:

Or even the visual of being messed with then all of a sudden going down the white microphone showing people what your u bend looks like from the inside:eek: :rofl38:

I had a Motorola V3 that went through a full wash cycle with my work cloths and did it survive its ordeal???..... Nope. :(
I’m on contract (12 months) and my contract was just about up, ready for renewal which means I get a new phone.
I went into town for the up grade and fill out all the appropriate paper work only to find out that my last contract was for 18 months and not my usual 12 months. So I’m now using an old phone until next summer.
I didn’t bother with the insurance this time because after all the years I’ve been on contract I’ve never needed to claim, typical. :o

:)
