More Chester.

Beacon of light
Overlooker
So we wandered down Eastgate until we reached The Square Bottle....a Wetherspoons pub.
Tyler was happy that we had found somewhere to fill his rumbling belly.
We found a table and sat down.
He looked at the menu, but I knew he would get a barbecued beefburger and chips....all washed down with a ginger beer.

I was not sure what to have and in the end I plumped for the steak and kidney pudding with chips and mushy peas.
Mine was washed down with a cheeky glass of Zinfandel.
I told Tyler that I did not know whether to have a Parma Violet Gin.
He said 'so is that what took you so long?'
Blooming cheek.
I told him that I was invisible at the bar and had to tell one guy that I had been waiting at the bar before he came to be served.

The food was not so crash hot and the service was a bit slow...I will not go there again, if perchance I visit Chester again.

Anyway once the growing lad was fed we could concentrate on enjoying the day.
Tyler spotted a game exchange shop.
He wanted to go in and check out the Xbox games.
He had some money to spend.
He wanted to buy a game. I asked him if he had permission from his mum to buy a game.

I could tell from his face that the answer was NO.
I told him that he needed to phone his mum before he spent the money on a game.

He took his phone out of his pocket and it had about 4% power.
Enough to connect, but not enough to have a conversation.

I told him that on a previous trip out I had had a phone rapid charged at the Vodafone shop.

We headed to the Grosvenor Mall to see if they would do that for him.
They tried to sell us a power bank for £20....they no longer did the rapid charge thing.

So that was that.
Except, I was not going to be beaten.
We went to the EE shop and I explained that his phone had died and he needed to contact his mum...could they put a charge on his phone for us.

The young man said he would do that.
I left Tyler in the shop while his phone was charging and I set off to find the Cathedral.

I was gone maybe twenty minutes.
When I came back Tyler was leaning against a bollard looking in all directions to see if he could spot me.
He had phoned his mum and she had said he could buy a game...so of course he was itching to do that.

While he bought the game I went and bought a box of donuts to take to the staff of the EE shop....for their afternoon tea.

He was coming out of the shop just as I came out of Greggs with the custard donuts.
We headed back to the EE shop and gave the young man the donuts with our thanks.
He said it was really unexpected.
I told him that it was kindness rewarded.

Oh yes more pics added just to add a little flavour of the day

Another helping later
