I am still creating cards..... Keepsake cards.
These are more than just a birthday card, they are cards that I would hope the recipient would want to keep.
They are unique and beautiful......a bit like me :D,
I have been asked by an old lady to make some cards for her family birthdays....a few for the ladies in the family and a couple for the gents.
These are the selection for the ladies......I have made a couple of cards for the chaps, but I am still working on these.
Cards for the chaps are much harder for me to get inspiration on......but I am not giving up.

Margaret, your cards really are beautiful and unique. Where have you got your inspiration from to make cards in this form? They will give pleasure to all who receive them. You should start a little business...

Dotti, I have watched some tutorials on the form of these cards, but every crafter will tell you that the final article looks different every time. Sometimes I have ideas for projects that fail in the execution of them.....they just don't work....or at least not how I had hoped they would. They are not wasted though....it is a valuable lesson learned....and I can usually salvage some element to use on other cards.

As for starting a business......well, I have had people ask me to make special cards for them....I do not charge anything, but I ask for a donation which goes to a cancer charity(Beating Bowel Cancer).
I could not make these commercially for a profit......they are, for me, therapeutic....relaxing.....and while your hands are busy you can't be munching on biscuits.
It is also very good to keep the grey cells working....they tell me it staves off 'Old Timers Disease'.
I am glad you like them.....thank you for your lovely comments on my fripperies.

These are really special, Margaret! I can tell you that my artist's co-op would gladly carry them, although I understand your thoughts about starting a business. That plus a few thousand kilometres distance :)
Besides, it is my experience that making things for profit and not the love of doing it alters the whole experience, and not in a good way. What a lovely idea to ask for charitable donations in return for your creations. Kudos to you.

Thank you Carolyn, your comments really do mean a lot to me.
I have never had any training in art, but people have said to me that I have a good eye...in relation to photography......and when I take pictures I have a mental picture of how I want them to look......it is similar with the cards...but sometimes they don't turn out as expected.

The cancer charity benefits from any cards that I sell...and the folk who buy them know that all of the money is donated to a cause that perhaps they or their family may need (though of course we all hope never to need them) in the future.
I feel it is a good deal, they get the money and I get the enjoyment.

I can see that you are very creative and talented M, I like them (even though there not my cup of tea) but Mrs E loves them.
Good work,Thanks for sharing and keep your creative side motivated ;)

Thank you for your comments Jason.
Cards are not usually a male domain....they tend to be chosen by the ladies in the family.......I do make some more masculine cards, but these in the pictures are something I saw a tutorial on and I took it from there.
It all started when I was asked to make a birthday card for a 14year old girl.
I thought these were spot on, as they would be considered 'cute'.(the young lady in question loved her card...maybe because inside the card is a pocket that takes folding money......or just a sentiment).

I make all kinds of cards......I enjoy doing it, the icing on the cake is that I am asked for cards, get donations and the cancer charity benefits from me enjoying my creative bent...win win, win.

These are amazing, Margaret-I am one of many asking you to do a card for me-I wish I was artistic but I'm not. If you're not too busy I'll put in an 'order' (I do hate that word). :)

Jen you can have any of those on show.....
PM me with your postal address and I will send it to you.
(there are more on the next page of my blog)
