Well it doesn't seem two minutes since it was the last Mother's Day....and here it is, upon us again.
I got MY mother's day card and bouquet of flowers today, because in the morning, at around 7am I will be loading myself and MY mum onto a coach to go to Whitby (via Goathland).......We will spend the day going round the village of Aidensfield and then onto Whitby. Lunch at a nice restaurant...and a blow on the sea front (hope we don't get blown into the briny)
What joys have you got planned for your mother?

hope you dont get snowed on MP...have a good day....I ve got all my lot coming around and my daughter and hubby are cooking a meal, so im just chilling out for the whole day..

Well, all you Mums out there......I hope you all have a lovely relaxing day.

Cherokee......I hope we don'tget snowed on either....i haven't got any snow chains for the wheel chair! :)

We just had some friends up tonight ,,, Their mum died in tragic surcumstances late last year,,they now have a little baby girl who their mum never saw...so i dont think it will be so good for them....even though they are trying to keep their chins up..

aww that is sad granny ... but there are those out there for tomorrow that will hopefully realise that its a day that is well deserved for mums everywhere , i will be thinking of my mum but will also be enjoying celebrating it with my children knowing my mum wouldnt have had it any other way.

Although I used to love cooking it is a little difficult now.

However I am having my Mum, and an old lady that bakes for me, round for a roast lunch tomorrow.

My Mum is actually bringing all the veg etc., but I will be laying the table and slamming the roasting tin in the oven, as my contibution.:D

Like lots of other people I think my Mum is the best in the world, except that I know mine really is.

Thanks for loving me, and being my friend Mum.

Love ya.:)

You guys who have such cherished memories of your mums are greatly blessed. Those who still have their loving mums also. I'm very envious of my friends who get along so well with their parents Our Mother's day isn't until May but I don't do much with it. Plus my mom has developed pretty bad dementia so she doesn't know about it anyhoo.

Hope you all have a special Mums' Day!

Brian

although i havn't had my mum here on earth with me for 37yrs i miss her every day but today is a big day for me & her, i feel so sad for my kids they never knew her she was fab .

a very happy mothers day to all mums & nans & grans x x x

I echo those thoughts Mez xxx

Seems I'm getting landed with cooking a meal, daughter and grandaughter were coming from Dewsbury, but grandaughter now opted out.

Didn't mind, as gave me opportunity to cook a piece of beef .. now not sure what to do, as know could get wasted. May just freeze this and take out two pieces of chicken ... oh hek, decisions, decisions. Hope she will be OK in this wind .. will just give a mum another worry.

Received roses from daughter this morning, didn't hear the bell, which must have been very early .. Tesco's home delivery .. left it in me green bin .. so has come in handy after all ... :D

i wish i could say happy mothers day to my mum, but she's been gone 16 years, anyway happy mothers day to all you mums on accyweb, have a great day xxx (i think i'll have to adopt a mum for the day) and i pick........uncle rindy ;)

Any ideas where i could take my mother out today for a nice meal. Money is no problem so not on a budjet.

What's everyone's take on how commercial Mothers Day is?

Know what you are trying to convey Simon, my own mum always thought was too commercialised. Most mums, however, don't really want anything much, just a card or even small bunch of daffodils is appreciated.

Me, although hate cooking, would have loved my son, grandaughter, daughter and brother to come and help eat this piece of beef I have bought. A day around the dinner table listening to them all chat as a family (and they do chat believe me) would have been my best present.

reece woke me up this morning with cheese on toast for my breakfast, and a brew, it made me smile :D
