Just An update
Mum was sent from Hospital to a rehabilitation centre for the elderly called Buckshaw its between Chorley and Leyland.
This is a very big and new building very secure main gate is electronic you have to sign in and out etc.
Each person has there own flat with front door and letterbox
The room has a bathroom attached and the main room/bed-sit had built in microwave, fridge etc.
They have there own phone where calls are 0.09p a min
They can have breakfast in there rooms and tea but must go down to the very nice Bistro/restaurant which has its own bar for dinner.
They are encouraged to exercise and to this end they have a swimming pool for residents to use.
There is a notice on the wall encouraging residents to go on the weekly nature walks which include the local pubs(hehe)
They are allowed to stay there for upto 6 weeks but can stay longer at a price of £450 for a single to £650 for a double per week.
Mum had done a home visit a few weeks ago to see if she could cope on her own, they found a few things that needed changing in the home like all rugs needed to be removed and the kettle moved to a better position for her .
They had put a care package in place ready
All this done mum was due home on Thursday 27th October
David had gone up in the morning to turn on the heating and get some fresh food in.
But as he had to go to work had also asked one of mums friends to go round so someone was in when she landed.
At 3pm I got a call from David to phone the home to see when she would be home.
I phoned the home only to be told the move had been cancelled and she would be stopping there as there was problems with her legs swelling up again (not taking her water tablets) and there was also problems with her oxygen which she would be on at home.
So I called mums house to let the friend know she might as well go home.
Later on David phoned to find out what was said and I told him they said they had text him to tell him but he had not received any text they also had my phone number but did not get a call to let us know it had been called off
They said they will be taking some more blood for tests and mum might have to go back in hospital for a while.
We will just have to see when the results come through.

hope your mum is going to be ok, is it costing her to stay at that place at the moment? it sounds like a lovely place but i hope this isn't just a ploy to keep her in the home a while longer so they get more money out of her, call me sceptical but i'd be looking into it if it was my dad

No she has not paid for this stay
she really is bad and will probably end up back in hospital
Things are looking grim me and david have to go to a meeting next week a date has yet to be set

Just had a phone call from the the center and they have had some blood test results back
The doc has now sent her to Chorley Hospital

Oh dear Mick, I thought it was all gonna be sorted last time I spoke to you.
I know it is a set back for her but at least she is getting the best care for her at this time. Its better then sending her home and then summat happens.

Hope she gets better soon.

sorry to hear yer mam aint on the mend yet, shes in best place in the circs mate, fingers crossed.;)

Oh Mick, really sorry to hear that your Mum is back in hospital. Chorley too...that's a blooming trek. Can they not move her to Blackburn so that it is nearer for you to visit?

Hope she improves soon. As everyone else has said, she is in the best place to get looked after.

Went to see mum Yesterday and she is not good has a very nasty chest infection.
she does not know where she is most of the time.
its not too bad Margaret as i get a train to Preston and my brother David picks us up in the car and takes us to the hospital.
I don't think mum will be going home anytime soon.

I am so sorry to hear that Mick, its horrible seeing them with nasty things like chest infections.

Thinking of her and if you need owt just let me know

Thinking of her Mick, hope she mends a bit soon. It is a worry. Glad you are not being inconvenienced too much by the travelling........can't use the bus pass on the train though......they want cold hard cash!

Oh David that aint good, I hope she gets better soon it mustnt be nice for her at all being this poorly.

Went over to see mum yesterday she looked much better,
but as we where leaving i got hold of the doc that was dealing with her, she was very nice and took us to the staff room to explain what was going on.
mum has 2 infections a chest infection and a water infection which is making her confused.
she also has a clot on one of her lungs and the other lung is only partially used as mum had TB as a child and it damaged the lung.
the doc was saying some of this damage could be down to her smoking and she was very surprised when we told her mum has never smoked in her life.
she also told us she has heart problems and her oxygen and co2 levels are not right.
but the doc was very optimistic and said mum could be out of hospital in a few weeks when they had things sorted out but will have to wait and see.

just a note
By the time we have got back to Accy Railway station it has been about 5-30pm and we where tired and sore with all the walking round Preston so when we get off the train we head down the ramp and jump in a taxi at the bottom twice now both taxi drivers have not been wearing seat belts and have charged £3-50 from station to our house near the one shop.
bit expensive i though but when you just want to get home.
Are Taxi drivers exempt from wearing seat belts ?

Don't use Asian taxis.
Use Hyndburn cabs instead.......I was talking to one of the drivers recently and he said that the Asian taxi firms are trying to monopolise the business by charging cheaper rates
(Hyndburn Taxis are the only company who use all english/white drivers) when they have taken all the business away from this firm, they will put up the prices and the people will have no option but to pay....or walk.
The Asian owned taxis will not go up the hill to Ma....and if Hyndburn do go out of business, then Ma will be stumped.

I am glad that she is getting a bit better lets hope she carrys on in the right direction.
