Tonights Telegraph says Music Zone in Accy & Burnley are to go into administration, the commpany who owns them are looking to sell as a going concern with no immediate redundancies.Challenging trading conditions are to blame.Don't know about Burnley but it's the only decent music store we have in Accy, and to lose it would be a great loss to all music lovers in the area.Woolies does mainly chart stuff & does some offers but you can pick up some long lost oldies at bargain prices at MZ,plus many more different catorgaries of music. So come on,lets do uor bit to keep it open(whatever that might be)

Oh no!! It can't close down. Always buy my chart Cd's & Dvd's from Asda. Coz its cheaper. But I have quite strange taste in music & films, so its good for the obscure stuff, including the rare Hed Khandi stuff. If it shuts down then i'll have to go to HMV which I really dont want to do, as its expensive.

Looks like i'll be shopping online in future then.

Little Chef also went in to administration yesterday
Knew about this Lancsdave, but feel i have a lot more in common with MZ than the famous roadside eaterie.Hope this isnt going to be a commonplace thing throughout 2007,after all we're only 4 days in:(

Lol. I was also going to put in the post that soon enough you'll be able to order food (not in the asda/tesco delivery sense!!)

Hang on just been looking on the pizza hut website and they have a delivery menu online!! Yippeeeee!!!! I never have to leave the house again.

The manager of Music Zone is a member on here.

I hope it's not true.

It'll be another nail in the Accy coffin if it is.

Its ok Garinda, it leaves an empty space ready for another Pound Shop.

...but at least the council are building even more new shops up near the council offices, if the charity/pound shops want to expand.

Well space will be needed to move the ladies dress shop from where the new bus station will be built

so once a company does go into administration

what does it mean? its gonna close down?

yeah the company closes down and all the stuff thats left gets sold cheap-only reason why i have a computer at the moment is cos a company called dugdale davies went bust last year and they auctioned all there stuff off-got my comp,a printer and loads of cartridges for £20 altogether :)
its sad, its happening alot now.i know loads of people who were made redundant for this reason. Its mainly because its so much cheaper to get stuff produced abroad then shipped over here.

so there's gonna b some cheap dvd's goin eh?

i feel sorry for the staff

on a different note - i drove past glynwebb and they're reopening apparently after a store refit

or its gonna b a totally differnt store

When I was in town on Wednesday Music Zone was closed with a sign on the door saying 'Closed due to technical problems' then in the LET it said about the chain going into administration but that they were looking for a buyer & the shops would remain open for the time being. Really hope it doesn't go out of business.
