There is a horse running in tomorrow's Grand National called "Red Striker"....the name alone has got to be worth a few quid of any Stanley fan's money[haven't checked his form or even how many legs he has!]

dont let the names fool ya, i wont bet cause i know if i do he'll fall at the first gate and lose all u's all ya cash :)

Well I backed the winner of last years race cos his name was Monty's....something.....anyway it had Monty in the name cos it reminded me of Monty python and I won £60. Can't be bad, eh.

Red Striker has been withdrawn from the National in the last few hours. Last years winner was Monty's Pass - I also backed it and won £20 (£2 stake! Last of the big spenders!). I chose the horse because the name reminded me of the Uncle Monty character in the classic British film 'Withnail and I'. If you haven't seen it then I'd recommend it. The horse runs again tomorrow and is probably a good each way bet.

"Red Striker" withdrawn?? Bobbins;will have to find another horse with a tenuous link type name....there is "What's up boys?","Mr Bossman"[one for Coley there]"Bounce Back" or my fave..."Simply Gifted"!!!! :flasher8:

I was on the same track as you Lindsay - went to back Red Striker & was told it was withdrawn so my money's gone on 'What's Up Boys' - here's hoping for a good result at Aintree & the IES!!

Me and my housemate put a bet on last year for the first time and won £200 between us.....not bad for begginers huh?
we had monty's pass, gunner welburn and a few more,....i was well chuffed:)
