As Katex said, I used some photos of naylers in my recent book 'Accrington Accl;aimed'. from memory, they all came from the firm, who are great to deal with. I feel sure that Alistair, who now runs the business though Joh n still turns up, will email them to you.

Cornthwaite - A family of that name lived in India St. Dave was about my age.

Hi Katie
Yes Brian Hays, he was religious nut if I remember. But what happened to everyone?
It would be good to know. Is Malcolm still around, if so he would be in his 70's now I would think, and Tom probably late 70's, again if he is till around.
As for accents Australians tell me that they i am from the north of England, but English friends when talking to them say I do have an Ozzie accent. Not surprising I suppose since I have been here 27 years.

Sorry to tell you Peter but Malcolm Taylor died last year, he was a friend of mine, we used to live near each other and I knew him from doing contract work at Nayler's in the early seventies, we both frequented the White Bull on New Lane

Well that is sad. Most of the guys that I new who were journeymen when I started my composing apprenticeship would be in their 70's. I wonder how many are still around now.

Hi Everyone

In fact where is everyone. No messages at all. Maybe the cold and snow has got to you all an d you are too cold to type. Should live in Perth, temperature for the last three months as been about 32°C.
TTFN Peter

Sent you a couple of photographs on the E-mail you gave Peter .. 20th December ... did you get them ?

Peter, if you are still out there, have you seen this about Jimmy Allen ?

Funny how you have worked with people and never known their story. Always wondered why he limped, and too polite to ask. Didn't put him down as a romantic either. Great stuff :

True love story in book of Accrington soldier's letters (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Was sad how his life ended though .. can't remember the full details, but vaguely was attacked by intruders into his home and the shock killed him.

Hi Kate

No I didn't get the files, maybe they went into the junk mail folder and I deleted them without realising. Perhaps if you are very kind they can be re-sent. I will await their appearance.

Still 32°C

Pete

hi mark, don`t know if you`ll receive this message after all this time but yes i do remember you, i`ll wait for your reply before i carry on.

Hi all, this is Peter Gregory

been out of touch for a while, moved house. Now living in Perth. Just back from a Cruise round Asia.

So who is still out there, Katie are you there and what is happening to Alan Cornthwaite, is he still around.

Let me know if you can

There was a Cornthwaite family in India St, even numbers. Dave C was in the police for a while. He will now be 70+....I do hope that all is wel for the Naylers and all their workers. They treated me, a customer, very well
