I went up to see Ma today.....she has had problems flushing her upstairs loo......but didn't bother to tell me until a couple of days ago.
I went to use her lavvy and found it wouldn't flush......I thought I had broken it.
When i told her she said it had been like that since before Christmas.......she has been using one of those portable bum washer/bidet things that you buy out of those catalogues that you get with the newspaper, to flush the toilet.
I told her that she was a daft old bird.....and that she should have mentioned it and I would get someone to have a look at it and see if it could be fixed....if not we would fix it with a new one.
So, today I took Shane(nice young man) up to have a butchers......she found him two other little jobs to do as well....anyway he said the lavvy could be fixed and it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg...so ma was really pleased.
He will return in the morning with the appropriate parts to mend the lav......and Ma will be able to flush to her hearts content.
I took Ma a couple of blouses and a big Fair Isle Cardigan that could double as a jacket....all charity shop buys....she was tickled to mint balls, and said that she is going to take them on our jollies next week.
She is looking forward to our jaunt to the Isle of Wight ....in fact her suitcase was out on the spare bed....she asked me if I was ready.......I told her that I don't do my packing (such as it is) until Sunday night.
What I am really looking forward to is taking my new camera's away with me....but there is a little fly in the ointment here.
My new Panasonic won't go into my trusty old camera bag....it's 'nose' is too long......so I ordered a fancy red one off the internet.....it was supposed to come last week, but the campany who supplies them had oversold the colour that I wanted (radiant red with silver trim....didn't want boring old black) they did offer me a choice of Olive green (yeuk), or Orange and Black(no thank you) or said I could wait until the new supplies arrived this week....so that was my chosen option....but it still hasn't arrived.
I don't really fancy taking my new posh camera on a jaunt without adequate padded protection....so please cross your fingers that it arrives before Sunday. Thank you!
