What a game.......football in periods of play.......and pushing and shoving....the rest of the time. I was sat on the edge of my seat for nearly all the game. Not often you see Rawson struggle to deal with a difficult target man, but he had problems with Quigley in the first half....how I'd love to have a player like Quigley playing for Stanley on his showing on Saturday.
I think all our players had a good game on Saturday including Farrand who seemed to have met his match on the day. Particular mention to Connor when he came on...getting back to his best....the ever young "elderly duo".....Whalley and Madden......Madden's growing on me, he puts the effort in .....we just couldn't get on the end of some great crosses into the box.....Heath has the ability to frighten defenders around the penalty area and Sinclair's becoming a really effective attacking midfielder. Last mention goes to our young keeper Ollie Wright......we've had some good one's down the years...but he's improving quickly with games ...... he made at least three or four really important saves on Saturday to ensure the win.
