Phew!!! What a week...
Not one to be easily beaten, I made a last ditch effort with the Christmas shopping and managed to get most of it done and wrapped. I have only about 4 more pressies to buy and I'm all done. I have also got November and December's birthdays (7 in total), all done. I just have to sort out January's now, as I will be away for those and need to get sorted.
I have bought my new suitcase for the hols and have now sorted all accommodations, flights and car hires. Quite a bit of the stuff is already paid for so that will reduce the amount we have to pay when we get there. I am now concentrating on saving some spending money. I have definitely inherited my dad's ability to save up and not get into debt. I am thankful for that ability and if I want something I always save for it. I have absolutely no understanding of how people can get themselves into thousands of pounds worth of debt. Maybe I only see financial issues in black and white, you can either afford something or you can't, if you can't, you save up until you can. I think that the crux of the matter is that I am too tight to pay interest on anything. Why should banks and building societies profit at my expense???
On Friday we had a trip to Manchester. I had seen some trousers hanging in a shop when I went on Monday. I didn't bother trying them on because I had gone for presents and wanted to get those before splurging on a pair of trousers. By Friday, it was a different situation as I had a lot of the pressies by then. I went into the shop and tried them on....ooooh, they were comfy. I came out of the changing room to ask Sparks for his valuable opinion. Well, he said 2 words and 2 words only - 'Camel Toe'. I went back into the changing room and looked in the mirror, he was right.
That was it - the trousers came straight off, went back on the hanger and I sulked my way out of the shop. At least I didn't buy them and then realise what they looked like.
So I'd like to thank Sparks for his opinion, at least I know he's honest..
