I have just 'splurged' one months pension on a new camera kit.

I have been saving up for a rainy day......and decided that if the rain comes I'll get an umbrella.
I told you a couple of months back that I had seen a very good camera(well, DP Review says it is good) on one of my trips to Manchester....I lovingly fondled it...and then put it back, deeming it too expensive and a frivolous purchase.
I have been to Manchester a few times since then...each time I have gone and drooled over this object of desire.

I had browsed on E-Bay and seen the same camera and a load of accessories at a very good price.
Being E-bay, I was quite wary.......they say if something looks too good to be true, then it probably is....too good to be true.

I did a bit more research into the seller...looked at their feedback and stuff like that.
I had costed the camera in Manchester and the price I have paid would have only bought the camera and two lenses, plus a good fast memory card....not the camera bag tripod, flash and other accessories.......so, I jumped in yesterday and bought it.

I get a lot of pleasure from taking pictures......and can you put a price on happiness and pleasure?
Mum also gets a lot of joy from my pictures too, so I know that she will be pleased for me.

I had to set up a Paypal account to buy the camera......I had help with this from Daughter...who already has an account......we put in my card details....and pressed 'confirm' to buy the camera.......and it came back with a message saying that I had to choose some other form to pay for my goods.
I couldn't understand this at all. I had never had a problem with my credit card before.......I rarely use it.
Daughter couldn't understand it, she said that transactions go through straight away.
We checked the number on the card and put the details in again, but still got the same response......no, it wouldn't let me spend this money.

A couple of seconds later the phone rang at my daughters...it was hubby......he sounded very stern....and suggested that I get myself back home and speak to the Serious Fraud section of our bank.

The purchase had been flagged up at the Serious Fraud Section of the bank......as 'unusual activity'......because the card was so little used, and because it was a hefty chunk of money being spent...they thought that the card had fallen ito the wrong hands.
Of course it hadn't.....it was me playing fast and loose with my Visa Card.

I had to go through all my details, including a long forgotten password.....it was lurking in the dusty section of my brain....to satisfy young Chris that I did own the card, and I was using it legitimately.
I told him it was comforting to know that I was so well protected.

It gave hubby a shock to be contacted, but isn't it a good job I wasn't doing it all on the sly?????

I still havent read the destructions for the scanner i got .. im just playing with it .. well best be off ..

I guess it is as good a way as any Jen......though sometimes you can get into trouble by playing with it(oooh, how rude might that be?)....what I mean is that if you do it that way, sometimes you get it accidentally right, but have absolutely NO idea how you did it.

Anyway, I'm off to play with mine now.....:D
