My first time knocking on doors and I couldn't have wished for better support. A team of about 15 people showed up to help me out, including Greg Pope. He's a really sound bloke and very easy to chat to. We all paired up to deliver leaflets and knock on a few doors, I paired up with Greg so that we could have chance to discuss a few things. It worked really well and we had a fantastic reception every where we went - I even made a small baby smile! What made it even more fun for me was that as we were regrouping towards the end of the leaflet drop, a certain PB drove past and saw us all!!!!!!!

Then Chris and I went to a Stanley match. It's about 18 years since I last went to a Stanley match, mainly because I'm a Rovers girl through and through. But Rovers were away stuffing Newcastle and Stanley are on a good streak at the moment so it seemed like a good time to cheer on the local team. I have to be honest that by half time I hadn't seen much to impress, in fact I was beginning to wonder how they'd got to the top of the league but fortunately the second half was brilliant. There were some really strong performances and they deserve to succeed. As we were leaving though I was beginning to wonder how the ground would cope with a bigger crowd - if they are promoted there's going to need to be some serious investment in the ground.

Just to clear up a point relating to my last entry - some people have said that I am perhaps not being entirely honest about the whole selection process because I told them a lot earlier that I was standing than I've said in the journal. The thing is that although I did say that, I didn't really have the right to say it until I was finally ratified which was why I never made a big announcement until then. There was always the (admittedly remote) chance that they could have turned me down. Hope that helps!
