Part 4
I went back to the doc and told him the abscess had come back and he mad me another appointment with Mr Jones, right he said we will have to cut it out this time so another appointment was made for a second op when the day came again I had to go in on the Sunday which is very hard for me as I don’t drive and we had to go on the bus and the Sunday services are very bad, I phoned the hospital to make sure they had a bed and to tell them I had a cold and would this matter the nurse went away and when she came back said it would be ok and to come in so I got my bag and off we went on the bus Anne decided to get 1 of them weekly passes cost then I think was £.9:50 we got there and was shown a little side ward so I got changed and waited the nurse came in and took all the details and put a tag on me ,after this Anne said she was off to do some shopping in Blackburn I said good bye and Anne went taking my clothes that I had come in with her.
After a while the anaesthetist came in to see me and after a talk said she was not happy about me having heart problems and a cold and she would not let the op go ahead until I got rid of the cold and should go home and wait for another appointment.
Problem no clothes Anne had no mobile phone with her so I had to wait until she had got the shopping and got home to Accrington to tell her to bring my clothes all the way back so at 6pm I went home with a very angry wife.
Apart from all the rushing around the bus pass was not much use to Anne, as she would not normally use it so we lost £9:50 as well.
We got another appointment through 4 months later and the op went fine although I was in pain and could not sit down very easily and I had to have the district nurse in to change the bandages every day I think every district nurse has seen my rear end at some point.
Everything was going fine back on track for the heart op but another abscess came up so it was back to the doc again and was referred to the surgeon, this time I was sent for an MRI scan if you have never had this experience you wont know just how uncomfortable it is, its very noisy and very claustrophobic, you have to put 1 of them open back gowns on and have nothing metal on you, you are then loaded on a trolley and put through a tunnel that is very tight and you have to lie still for 45 mins not nice I had cramp when I came out.
It was 4 weeks before the results were through guess what the scan showed nothing and the surgeon wanted to do another scan.
So waited for another appointment 5 weeks got to the hospital and got ready to go for the scan but this time the surgeon decided he wanted to put dye in first,
So he tried to inject the dye and missed 3 times my rear end was like a pin cushion and very sore.
This time the results showed a tiny tube full of fluid and he said this was the problem and he would cut the whole area you.
