This year I am going to grow some regular peas and some purple podded peas.
I have grown these each year for the last 3 years, not one peapod has made it into my house,I can`t resist `grazing`,what do you eat????

David, strawberries are now on my list, when I saw your post my wife Janet said to leave the strawberries to her - time will tell........

You will have to put a fine netting over them when they are turning red , or the birds will beat you to them .

Today I bought a cherry tree and a plum tree, going to grow them in pots on the decking.
Looking forward to some blossom!

got about 30 peas on a saucer with wet kitchen roll on windowsill, about half have germinated so far.Try to plant out in about 7 days.Got to get slug pellets first!

oh i just stick a packet of peas (from wilkinsons) in the compost and watch them grow, i never get them to sprout before i plant them, thats too much messing for me

I get my seeds from Wilko`s too.what ya mean too much messing,I open the seeds then say `Janet, where`s the kitchen roll? Where?Where?`Hey presto she`s got it organised, simple!

but why make them germinate when you can save the messing by just sticking them in soil/compost? you men don't half faff lol

ahhh but who says they are the best? i may grow the best peas in Blackburn but there would be only me saying it ;)

Last night Janet covered her strawberries with a black bin bag, good move.Temps dropped to zero and seeing as there were plenty of flower buds,I`m sure she did the right thing.
Anybody done anything similar?
