Did anyone else get a leaflet through the door about the proposed changes to church gateway?

A double roundabout arrangement is proposed for the church gateway junction ...etc.....it will also include signal controlled crossing facilitys for cyclists and pedestrians.

it looks like them building which are tatty nr the P.O are gonna be knocked down and the road made wider too!

I've printed the leaflet out and it looks like its going to replace Elmans Folly or Church traffic lights, although there is no road names on the map. The only time the traffic flows with ease is when the lights arn't working so this should be a big impovement

good news if they are going to do,what should have been done in the first place, pity i should have croaked by the time they get on n do it.

Road names are there albeit very faint. Henry Street is top right and Union Road is bottom left.
Toucans haven't replaced pelicans, they are a new alternate crossing for use on cycle routes and can be used by pedestrians as well.

A subtle play on words that is ---- 'two'can use it
the two- being cyclists and pedestrians

I had one through my door yesterday, this was centred on Ossy, but don't really apply to me I don't use buses

I received mine too.

Though the map of the proposal is so faint, and the writing so tiny, I can't give an informed opinion until I've got my microscope out.

I got mine out Rindi and I'm still know wiser, never didgo back and have my eyes retestd:rolleyes:

yeah we got them in Blackburn too, i think its a great idea, we obviously got a different booklet than Accy folk but the changes look excellent to me

I've just been along to the Ossy consultation and seen a lot of unhappy people.

From my perspective (possibly quite a selfish one but I can only base these things on how they're going to affect me), I see it as a positive. There will be a 70 space car park right outside the theatre and the bus routes will be delivering people to the bus stops outside the theatre every 12 minutes.

It may even encourage me to get a bus more often as the route will be very convenient.

"more often" - out of interest how often do you catch a bus and when was the last time?

We used a tour Bus in London the other month. Before that I think it might have been about 6 years since I caught a bus and that was only because we thought Sam would to.

Not often, I admit . Perhaps I should have just said 'it may even encourage me to get a bus' and left out the 'more often' bit. ;)

I don't get the bus now because I have a car or I walk.
