I like to think I am pretty organised.....and in the main I am.
I get a lot into my days and this means that there has to be some organisational skill involved......BUT......when it comes to finding my craft stuff.......I can't be.
This might be because I have so much craft stuff......and the place that I craft look s a real disorganised mess. But I usually know(or have a fair idea) where stuff might be found
Over the last couple of weeks I have been looking for some of my craft tools.
I know that I have a some USB sticks with craft stuff on.Three with cutting patterns on(they were expensive too). I could find two of them, but the third one which had designs on it that I wanted to use, eluded me.
Now stuff like this I usually keep all together. When I have used this kit I put it back in the same place I got it from......I searched all the places I considered were sensible but the darn thing could not be found. In the end I resorted to using a different design for my card and it turned out better than I thought it would.....but I still could not rest over the lost USB.
It should have been easy to locate because each one of these USB's is in a case like you would get a DVD in.
In the end I 'pinned the devil'. This is something that was taught to me by a maltese nurse that I worked with as a student.
If you misplace something you get a needle,(an ordinary sewing needle) and in my case, I said out loud 'I have lost USB 3 - I pin the devil' then you plunge the needle with gusto into the hem of a curtain(somewhere you aren't going to stab yourself with it) then you cease looking and what ever it is you are seeking turns up(this has not filed me yet).
Right enough, I was going through some card stock and what should be buried in it....the case with the USB in it. OK, it was too late for me to use it but I felt better knowing where it was and it was returned to the place where it is normally kept.
Today I have just started to plan my Christmas cards.
I have made just one so far and to complete it I wanted to stamp and emboss a greeting on the front of the card.
Can I find my Christmas stamps? Well, what do you think?
I remember thinking, last year just after Christmas, I would separate the Christmas stamps and put them somewhere safe.(I knew that they would get on my wick if I left them with my general stamps)
They are safe because I can't find the blooming things......so I cannot complete my card.
So I have just pinned the devil again and will stop looking and hope that they fall out of a cupboard or I find them salted away in a box somewhere.
I know it is only June...but you have to get organised if you want to make your own special Christmas cards
