Played a blinder.

It was Son in laws Birthday on Sunday.....I bought him a little gift, but gave him some cash to do whatever he wanted with.
When I gave it him he tapped the side of hise nose and winked and said he planned to take Nicola out for a run and some lunch somewhere.....if she felt up to it.

Sunday the tinlids did their Christams list...the list they leave for Mary Fairy to take to Santa.
Nicola had noticed some adverts on TV for Smyths (the toyshop)..they were giving 20% off all toys until close of business on Monday....so she had decided that she would have enough energy to go and do the Christmas shopping for the childrens presents - and she said the everyone else is getting nowt.

So off they went to Bury. Nicola said the place was Chockka...folk with trolleys full of stuff......but she said that having a trolley she could lean on was a help......they went around the store with their list and got everything on it and a couple of board games for the family to play.......then she left the man with the money and the trolley and sat in the car.
All in all they save almost a hundred pounds...and some of the gifts were in the buy one get one half price range so they did well...she was well chuffed, what with the savings and having got the stuff done so far ahead of time...she just hopes that the tinlids don't stumbel on the stuff.

After having done the shopping they stopped off and had a very pleasant and leaisurely lunch - son in law doesn't start work on a Monday until 4pm......she was mashed last night and went to bed soon after the children......but with a smile on her chops knowing that she played a blinder!
