Just watched a programme (why does everybody spell this in tech talk program now ?). Why am I so fascinated by this terrible tragedy ?? I will, myself, be there in 6 weeks time and really excited about the visit.
I don't think I am particularly a sadistic voyeur, felt I could lie beside the casts of the dead and put my arms around them for comfort. My justification is that it is a blast from the past seeing how our people lived 2,000 years ago.
Problem is they ended by saying, that this eruption is known to happen every 2,000 years and is now due !! Not sure if I should do the Vesuvius trip.

Yes, do remember the other programmes, scares you for it little while as always a possibility ... look at the world disasters we have had recently. We had the technology to monitor these recent ones, but due to lack of funds, was never installed. Tsunami in particular. Find that sad. How can we ever get the world to work together as a team.
