What is the population of oswaldtwistle?

Likewise, what is the population of accrington/hyndburn etc?

Accrington shown within Lancashire
The town has a population of 35,203 according to the 2001 census.

Surely it's gotta be less now, what with all the stabbings:rolleyes:

82000 and something as quoted for Hyndburn

Fro more accuate details contact the council and ask for the person who deals with the Census details. I have never dealt with the one for Hyndburn but in generally they are very helpful and grateful for someone to talk to

Never heard of him - googled - soil scientist? - how legendary is that !

Contrary to popular belief, Google is the creation of mortals and thus does not hold all the answers.

Fred Bentley was our somewhat legendary Geography teacher at Mount Carmel. Taught P.E. back in the day and then moved on to Geography when he himself became fossilised.

That's why I was never great at geography. I was copying off you! :D

Fred Bentley is a legend.:mosher:

I think it was possibly my worst subject at school. And that time he put a picture of an eye on a graph and said it represented my 'gorgeous eyes'... how embarrassing. He seemed to think all the lads should fancy me lol

He was a fabulous teacher, but retired now. I think its sad how you lose touch with teachers. I would love to see him again and let him know how I was doing, he always thought very highly of me.
In fact, once he embarrassed me in front of the whole class for my poor attendance by reading out my CAT score and saying how it was the best in my year and I should be getting A's. Shame I never listened.
