Power Cut?!

Anyone else have a power cut about 2hrs ago. Its just come back on. I noticed half of Union Road was out (at the bottom, near town hall) and all my street. Don't know how many of you there are around here, except Rindy & Gayle.

My computer does not like power cuts! lol.

Happily back on now.:)

I was just about to have a bath...but decided agaionst a cold one.:eek:

Earthquakes, powercuts, what next?:rolleyes::D
 
It was only a couple of hours, but it was really boring.

No brew, no computer, no radio, no heating.

At least I've finished reading the Sunday papers now.:)
 
Luckily I had to take Harry to nursery, so that killed a bit of time. Then came back and read the papers.
 
well here in church we had it as well but only some parts, in church st no electricity but then just around the corner they had it.
I rang my friend and told me she had it , but the she said that she had some letters thru post telling her that her power was gonna be cut off for 3 hours or so due to some work.
i didnt get no letter
 
My daughter lives on estate near bubble factory, one of her neighbours phoned her to say there was a power cut, (we had gone shopping ) by the time we got back to her place it was back on.
 
One of my girls at work lives up near Franco's and she was going mad worrying about her iguanas; they need heat lamps. I suggested putting them on the gas on low for a while !;)
 
my daughter said rhyddings also had a power cut too, all the kids where complaining that they wanted to go home because they couldnt have a hot meal for dinner, they gave em sandwiches instead:rolleyes:

I live nr ossy mills and i never had a power cut!

She's lucky - my son didn't get anything - there were no sandwiches left!:mad:
No power cut here either thankfully as washer, dryer, iron & stereo were all on!

They cant do that!!!!!!!!!! did they not ring you and ask you to fetch him something?

He rang me from his mates mobile - but he thought our power must be off as he got a strange tone and he didn't have my mobile number. (The strange tone turned out to be the engaged tone :rolleyes:)

I wish they had have rung me - I only live round the corner could have made a sandwich and been there within 5 minutes! They have a bad habit of not communicating when they're in the wrong!
 
that is ridiculous!!! I bet they would of rang you if he was on packed lunches and you had forgot to send it with him!
 
I don't think we had one but I was out so can't be sure. The electric clocks seem OK though. My friend on Higher Antley Street phoned me - she'd had one.
 
My nan lives near the new houses they are building at the bottom of craven street/chester street, she had a power cut earlier today, which was due to the builders cutting through the mains. I wonder if its all connected
