Thankyou for all your good wishes for our wedding anniversary....... and Romps.....No, I didn't get anything......he said 'You've got me......what more could you possibly want'.......I didn't know he had been taking lessons from Neil....! LOL.
So the next one is our RUBY Anniversary........hope he doesn't go to too much trouble planning anything for that date......lol.
To be honest I am not big on celebrations......he always tells me that I can have anything that I want.....and in truth he never buys presents for anyone......cards , presents, remembering dates, filling in forms, all that stuff is dealt with by me.
On the subject of presents, I am like you Romps......I think quite hard about the person I am buying for......and frequently I will buy something that I think THEY will like, but also something that I like too.
I have absolutely no qualms either if someone I buy something for decides to re-cycle the gift and give it to someone else......now that may sound odd, but in a way what the person is doing is complimenting you on your good taste......and almost saying that they, themselves would choose to buy that present for someone that they know. I know some people get very sniffy about re-cycling gifts.
One of the best presents I ever received was from my daughter.
I was heavily involved in going to the gym and keep fit at the time.....and she bought me a grey FAME tracksuit......yeah, it is a lot of years ago.....but I wore that track suit until it fell to bits......and when it became very threadbare I would wear it as jimjams in the winter.
If I see something that I like, I will buy it for myself..... the problem with that is, I do like surprise presents..... but sometimes surprise is not quite the right word......shock, horror is more appropriate......followed by the phrase 'Have you kept the receipt?'
What I really want next is a computer upgrade......but I have to save up a bit first.
