Recycling changes!!

our box n bags had blown away last friday morning. thought box had been nicked once again. not a happy bunny, wonder why our councilors aint had owt to say on this thread?

No brownie points or votes to be gained on this one?

The recycling bags are a naff idea, the binmen lose some of the contents, but dont bother to pick it up again, then just throw the blue bags in the garden, just so you can retrieve it from the end of the street at night.

Thats exactly what happens round here.............although you are lucky if you get your bag back at all:rolleyes:

Once you put it out on the street after following their rules it becomes their rubbish and their responsibility.

How can it be your fault it blew all over the road because someone at HBC had a stupid idea of using light weight bags on windy days?

If I don't pick it up.. I know they won't
I certainly don't wanna be contributing to the mess in the streets lol

Right....it's official....see today's Lancs Telegraph...you'll all be getting your foodie bins shortly and on top of that you may well be looking at a once every three weeks collection.

Don't say I didn't tell you.

I don't have a garden, so composting is not an option.
I have to carry my blue box, my cardboard boxes, white bag and blue bag down 13 concrete steps to put them out for collection at the crack of dawn. - so being washed and dressed at that early hour is already an intrusion on my laid back lifestyle.

What I need to know now is whether I can accumulate my eggshells and crusts in plastic bags so that I can deposit food waste in this blue bin once a day, or will I have to make a trip down 13 concrete steps every time I crack an egg:rolleyes:

The Australian firm which has won the £2billion contract will earn £400million over 25 years in interest repayments from the county. It has been predicted that council tax will have to rise by 14.5 per cent by 2012 to meet the costs.

Anyone else spot the 2 reasons this scheme should not happen?

i wonder who is the leader of this crackpot idea?

The system...........Too many 'thinking' civil servants in too many jobs that have been created to keep these 'Job for life' people in employment with the help of too many councillors at all levels who have have'nt a bloody clue what day it is.
