Remembering Stanley

Rest in Peace
Weaver
As a teenager I went to every home game in the nearly years, and I have just been looking at the Centenary book again. It brings up good memories of Peel Park and a list of players that almost got us promotion, such as
Willie White (worked with him at Huncoat Colliery.)
Stan Lynn.
Bob Scott
Jimmy Harrower.
John Ryden.
Harold Bodle.
Joe Devlin (also worked Huncoat Colliery)
Terry Tighe
Stewart.
Charlie Sneddon.
Paddy Sowden.
The Anders Brothers.

Manager Walter Galbraith. Coach Les Cocker.

What a shame it didn't happen.

Willie White lives in St Annes now...he was a good mate of my late Dad and he's still a mate of Jaysay's.

Incidentally, claytonx, could it be time you renewed your acquaintance with Stanley by making a trip to the Crown?

Aye, there was nowhere quite like the "deep end" at the Stop! ;)

There is Jack Barrett (who has received the Freedom of the Borough) who is around reception on match days and Jack Hudson (Club President) who was chairman of the club in the early 70's:)
