First reason to ring the bells is that I'm back on broadband. It just came back on last night, it was Tiscali's fault after all. Thanks to Mick and Mez for their phone support and tips.
Second reason to toll the bells is that I'm off to a wedding tomorrow. The couple I have only known a relatively short time, but we get on really well He's a fireman in Manchester and she's a primary school teacher in Oswaldtwistle. We have had some great times in the last year, and l felt honoured to have been asked to share in their happy nuptials.
They are getting married at St. Mary's in Ossy, a church I haven't been into since 1967, when I was under three. I had playmate on Park Lane who was a Catholic who took me along once. I remember being fasinated by the wooden confessionals and a statue of Mary, so I'll see how good my memory is tomorrow.
The people who are decorating the lynch gate with flowers are even giving me a lift as well, so everything is sorted. All I have to do today is pick up the travel tokens the couple have asked for, a boring but practical present I suppose.
They have booked me into The Higher Trapp Hotel at Simonstone, where the reception and evening do is being held. One night in a hotel. My bag is packed, and I am looking forward to my little one night 'holiday'.
I just checked online, the hotel has four acres of gardens with views of Pendle Hill, but no pool. At least I can go and unpack my swimming shorts, which I had packed just in case. Knowing some of the other guests though, if there had have been a pool, swimming costumes would probably have been optional.
PS. Thanks for your comments! No the fireman is marrying a school teacher and not a primary school in Oswaldtwistle. Anyone reading this after I've corrected my mistake, ignore this bit.
