We couldn't believe it when we got on the Clayton End and saw how few were there, Jay. And it's not as if people are staying away in protest at the manager and owners like the Rovers situation.
I've been doing the guess that gate for a few seasons now and can't remember one so low, maybe its because it was a bank holiday weekend, which is the only thing I can put it down tooWe couldn't believe it when we got on the Clayton End and saw how few were there, Jay. Sheer, unadulterated apathy in my view, but let's hope gates pick up from here on in!
Its just a pity a lot more don't have your love for the club at heart, but of course, you can remember what happened back in the sixties

the stanley crowd was down because of 2 things i believe.
1. The terrible weather
2. The cost
i know a good few who are unwilling/unable to pay the new charges this season.
it was £27 at ewood on saturday in the jack walker, so i returned to my old stomping ground , my beloved Riverside which cost £19.

i've been going to live matches since i was 8years old.
it's something your brought up on.
i don't know too many people who watch footie week in week out , year in year out. it must be a minute percentage of the population who actually who actually do get down to the grounds. there's too many other distractions...

Having tried to weigh this bad gate up. I come to conclusion that these factors have conspired against us. (1) Approx I hr before kick off was very heavy rain,( stanley have had many games rained off in the past,) (2) Rovers game was on T.V. (3) Bank Holiday. (4) The Cost.

Are you sure? I don't have figures to hand but hundreds of thousands of folk do go regularly to watch footy week in week out which is hardly a small percentage. However all these reasons - footy on TV, bad weather on Saturday, Bank Holiday - apply just as much to other clubs as us and no one got such an awful gate as Stanley. Agree that price was probably a factor. After forking out for a game on Tuesday, perhaps some couldn't afford to go on Saturday. Problem is, the club is caught between a rock and a hard place - if they reduce the admission drastically, will they be rewarded with an increase in walk ons to make up the financial shortfall? Reckon they should try it for one match to see what happens.

dropping prices wont help. You either go week in week out,the odd one or two games or not at all. Add up all league attendances for any weekend and its not much of the countries population, which is millions.
Keep up your support, thats all you can do.
Nah no club will turn em away, amazing how many have no shame though.76,000 regular at Old Trafford.. and having come up by train for the Fulham game last week not many from London..but then does it matter where fans travel from?..said it in the past no club with any sense is gonna turn any fans away at the turnstiles.
