Sales madness.

I had a leave day on Tuesday, so me and Sparks went to flex the plastic at the sales in Manchester. How foolish are we????

I don't normally do sales and Tuesday reaffirmed why. The whole of the city centre was packed, there were queues which seemed to be miles long for the simplest of things. We went into Next and I couldn't even contemplate buying anything from there.......honestly, it was that bad. All of the tat that they have been unable to sell for the last decade is thrown higgledy-piggledy onto clothes rails. You have to rummage for everything, and I hate rummaging. I would prefer my desired item to drop casually at my feet when I enter the store.

We didn't come away empty handed though. I got a pair of jeans for half price at Harvey Nic's and Sparks got a beautiful new suit. My mate is getting married in the summer and Sparks needed a suit. He tried it on in the shop and he looked brilliant in it.... I've never seen him in a suit and was starting to come over a bit teary he looked that good. We had a meal then came home, I was knackered so I had 40 winks on the bus, I went back to work yesterday for a rest....

I could cope with sales if there were no other people around. Being elbowed, pushed and standing in queues for hours is not my idea of a fun day out. When we went to the sales last year, we went early in the New Year and it was quieter.......Maybe next week would be good.

Off to the Old Silent tonight, the steaks are on order. It's the closest I'll get to a Christmas dinner and I'm going to enjoy it...:D
