Save or devour?

garinda. A week after ordering the book, from the very nice lady in Smith's, the book's in my possession, and I'm in a quandry. Do I have an early night, and probably finish it in one sitting, or should I just enjoy that I now have the final chapter to all these characters lives, and save reading it for my holiday in Zante.
Save the ending for Zante garinda, with a bit of luck the island mighn't just resort to type and have it's bi decade EARTH QUAKE.:D

I love Tales of the city,so devour! I find with these particular books I stay up far too late promising 'just one more chapter..' blimey,I'm down to smiths asap now!

I say wait until you find a quiet spot on the beach. Make looking forward to the vacation (holiday) even more exciting. Then again, there other books to be found that you could also purchase now and wait in eager anticipation and go ahead and get this one read. Oh, if all of life's decisions were this easy!:p

I always take at least one book that I am really looking forward too on hols;then about another 3 that might be ok ! Then I end up saving the good one till last on hols ! It gets a bit daft really.

When I lived in London, I was lucky enough to met Armistead Maupin through work, and I asked him if there would be anymore Tales of the City books, and he said no.

When I read the review in the paper last weekend, and realised there was a sequel eighteen years on, I danced and whooped, just as if I'd won the lottery.

Blackbandit, I hope you enjoy finding out what has happened to all those wonderful characters, just as much as I'm going to tonight.:)

Thanks,Garinda-I'm sure I shall! Will Mary-Ann have taken over the world do you think?! ;)

never take a book on holiday, always buy a few from Cudeca, 50cents each, get some belters n just leave em for someone else when i return home, must be a similar type shop in zante? saves carting em with me n helps Cudeca so everyones happy.;)

Although, with food, I like to save the best til last, with books I just jump right in. I know it sounds childish but I am eagerly awaiting the last Harry Potter and will have read at least the first 3 pages on the walk home from the shop.
Enjoy your read and find something new to read on your hols..:D

I'm waiting for Harry Potter too - I've had it on order from Amazon for about four months.

Will be delivered on a Saturday morning and I'll have read it by Sunday night.

Did that last time.

Well I finished it this afternoon, and it was a real treat.:)

The last book ended in 1989, and it's amazing just how much the world has changed in those years, particularly medecine.

yep, who would have thought that Thalidomide would ever be available again on prescrition, only thing I can't figure out is why is was still available and why the original manufactuers continued working to find if it was good for anything
