Ma is really looking forward to our trip to the Isle of Wight......so much so that she is having her hair done this morning(Good Friday......never been heard of before...it was usually Mass and sedate happenings on a Good Friday).
I went to see her yesterday and to take her some shopping.
She asked me if I was packed.....my reply?
'Don't be daft Ma, I'll do that Sunday night'
she looked at me a bit quizzical and said 'Eh'
The I realised, we would be on the Isle of Wight on Sunday night.
I am so used to travelling on a Monday that I had quite forgotten that we were going Sunday morning......even though I have been talking about going on Sunday I hadn't quite connected to the idea I would have to pack on Saturday ........I have now though.
I was just having a senior moment!
Spindleshanks has scored the little green suitcase.
This caused something of a problem.....his sister,Madam Bossy Drawers felt very much aggrieved that he had his own suitcase and she hadn't.
He was showing off with it too........pulling up the handle and wheeling it around their living room, packing it with books and toys, zipping it up and wheeling it round the lving room......not letting her have a turn to wheel it round the living room.
It seemed that this was going to cause more than a bit of rivalry.
I mentioned it to Ma....she saved the day by producing a similar sized case in brown and beige.
Ma didn't think Miss bossy Drawers would be impressed as it wasn't really in 'Girly' colours.
It was less rigid too....which Miss Bossy spotted right away and pronounced that Spindleshanks case was 'bigger'.
I got over this by measuring them side by side to show her that it was exactly the same size, and told her that hers was special because it was soft and would expand to hold more things......being female she appreciated this point.....every girl wants something that will allow her to pack more things....don't they?
Crisis averted, two happy tinlids.
