me and pam have been over to southport today, its getting a bit like accy
empty shops on lord street, dirty pavements litter.its slightly better than blackpool no beggars in the door ways.

My sister in law has rung saying how many empty shops there are on Chapel Street (Near the railway station) not good

I use to like going to Southport, always clean and tidy, and some very good shops too, seems a shame that its going down hill too

Morecambe is just the same :( not so bad up the top end though near Eric. Went to the seaside last week when it was really sunny and the place was booming with tourism. The beach and water are clean, people were having a really good time and it just seemed a shame that the whole place couldn't have an injection of money and community work to help make it what it used to me again.

I've not been to southport for a very long time, but it sounds like it is in a similar state and could use the same sort of TLC.

The biggest problem for Southport is the fact that there is no motorway connection, the Rainford bypass was going there but never arrived, the Skem one leaves you the wrong side of Ormskirk and the M65 ends in a cabbage field instead of going through to the A59

Doesn't Morecambe have that same problem?
