Spend, spend, spend......

Oh dear.........I've had a very expensive weekend. It wasn't intentional and I can just about justify the spending, but I'll have to pay for it somehow..

I finally chose a new suite yesterday at Taskers. It is lovely but I didn't like the colour in the showroom, so I have ordered it in a different colour. It's a 3 seater leather settee with a powered recliner chair, or electric chair as I keep calling it. It is ever so comfortable and I do need a new one. My old suite is at least 25 years old and was a hand me down from my dad. It is no longer comfy and has all but collapsed, so I can justify the spend. I could have got a cheaper suite elsewhere, but I reckon that it is something that I'll have for a very long time so I might as well get a decent one.

I have a week off work coming up at the beginning of June. Not one to have a week off and do nothing, I decided that me and Sparks would perhaps benefit from doing nothing in sunnier climes.............so we're off to Greece in 6 weeks. I could have stayed home and done the dissertation, decorating, gardening or a thousand other jobs that need doing but, if truth be told, I'd rather have a holiday.

All I can say is thank God it's pay day next friday...

Good on yer Lettie......I did something similar a few years ago.....but my suite doesn't have an electric recliner....but we have reclining action of the sofa and on the chair......no falling out over who should be able to put their feet up. I have never regretted spending the money on the furniture......because it is something you have to live with and be comfortable on........and a holiday........well, you will work much better on your dissertation when you have had some sun on your bones.
