I always cook a roast on Sunday..but is a roast still a favorite?..my preference is Beef and Lamb but it is expensive..Chicken or Pork is nice.. has the roast gone out of fashion?

Nope last Sunday i did a slow roast leg of lamb well it was half leg cost £5
with roasted potatoes peppers and asparagus it was really nice.
There was plenty of meat on the lamb i got 6 good potions out of it even the cat enjoyed munching on the bone .

sounds nice Mick but asparagus ?...just goes to show how downhill Accy has got..would have got yer head kicked in if you even mentioned asparagus 20yrs ago :D

Its ok hopefully i wont have to buy it next year as i am growing my own

It's not out of fashion in this house, I love my roast dinners, we do argue about favourites though, I prefer Lamb, or Beef, everyone else prefers chicken!!

Well this morning i have just baked a very large lemon & lime drizzle cake used 6 eggs and it took 1 1/2 hours to bake still waiting for it to cool down but had a slice and its turned out great so that afters so we will be having roast gammon joint sauteed potatoes and asparagus for dinner today

Wouldn't miss Sunday Roast for out, Roast Beef and Yorkshire pud roast tattas carrots, cabbage, with a nice sweet to follow all raped up with a bottle of wine perfic

lol i've just my chicken on, we have a roast dinner every Sunday without fail, we had beef last week, they do cheaper cuts of meat in Morrisons, got a very large piece of braising steak for £1.51 and that just does me and Reece with tatoes, cauli, carrots, broccolli swede peas and gravy

Any chance of an invitation? ;)

I've just cooked some pork, to have with mashed potatoes and spinach. I also caramelised some apple rings to serve with it. I won't be eating it today, but it'll save me cooking when I come in from work tomorrow.

I've also made a banana cake, but it's still in the oven, so I'm not counting on it until it's done. :D

I always do a Sunday Roast......Beef or Pork...and very occasionally Lamb.......I don't often do lamb because I can't eat it.....but that is no hardship as I don't like it anyway.

well i finally got up and the chickens gone in the oven ... dont know what im having with it yet ... havent decided .. but the chickens in .. will be ready eventually ..:D:D:D

we are having peppery chicken, cauliflower cheese, green beans and carrots :D

so not a traditional roast :D

Always eat a roast dinner but it is cooked for me(don't see much point doing a roast for one). Anyway today we had roast beef, yourshire puds, mash and roast spuds, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli, peas and gravy. Followed by apple pie and cream, thanks Mum

for years and years I hated them,

then I started working in teh restaurant trade and found that actually I just hated well done meat. Give me a bloody rare roast of Sirloin and I'll scoff teh lot!

Chicken I quite like but needs flavour adding with herbs etc.

Pork must have good crackling but then must still be juicy.

lamb I don't mind but its Julies favourite. I can decide if I prefer it quick and rare or very long and slow cooked.

now I quite like a roast dinner but only if I've done it and I know its too my liking.
