technology...isn't it marvellous.

so here I am...morning of the 16th.....
broadband due to disappear like Cinderella at midnight the folowing day.
I got on the blower and spoke to another very pleasant young man.
I went through the whole story...he was very patient and got ten out of ten for listening to me.
When my tale of woe was finished...he apologised profusely and said that the next thing he was going to do was send out my magnificent new hub...with a courier...no Royal Mail this time...and he guaranteed that I would get the new bit of kit by the following morning.
He said this would give me time to set it up before the midnight turn off.

He was so confident that it would arrive in time, that he promised to ring me to check it had been delivered.

I told him that he did not need to ring me, that if, by some chance the hub had not turned up, he would be hearing from me.
He elooked at out account and saw that himself has a sports package so he knocked three pounds a month off that as a sweetener, and for the inconvenience.

all I had to do now was wait.

8am on the following morning...a knock on the door......and a courier placed the box with my new hub in my lobby.

The lovely Gavin had done exactly as promised and here it was.
I took myself off upstairs, plugged it in and watched for the lights to change...and they did.
I was up and running.
I keyed the new password into the devices and the TV was even easier...i just had to press the WPS button and the hub searched and found the TV and paired itself to it...so now himself can avail himself of films, catch and goodness knows what...except that in reality he is still too much of a technophobe to handle this (complex...he says) process.

Yes, Technology...what would we do without it?
