tell them.....do it NOW!

I have just been reading the tributes to Antony Cox, whose funeral it was today.
I feel very sad for his family......because when someone commits suicide, it is the family who suffer.
They beat themselves up with those 'if only's'......they wonder if they could have done something to avert the awful event, they are left with so many unanswered questions.

So many people seemed to have cared about this young man. He left an impression on so many lives, yet how could he not have known that there were so many people who held him in high esteem?
Maybe it is because we fail to tell those we care about, what impact, their love has on our own lives.
Is it because we think they know what we feel for them?....Or is it because we feel a bit awkward expressing our true feelings?

My own thoughts are that it is a bit of both.
We think that our actions should tell them that they matter to us, and that there is no need for us to put ourselves through the awkward experience of saying what we feel.

Way back in the 80's my sister-in-law committed suicide.....on (of all days) Valentine's Day.
At her funeral my brother said some beautiful things about her......but he failed to say them to her...he didn't think he needed to.......he thought she knew what his feelings were.

The passing of Antony Cox was tragic.....but we can all learn something from the sadness.....that is, if you love someone, or just care about them...tell them.

Let them know how much they mean in your life, how much you would miss them if they were not there.....let them know that whatever troubles they may have in life, you are ready to lend an ear and share the burden if it gets too heavy for them to bear alone.
Don't be one of those people who tonight are saying 'if only we had known....if only we had helped, if only we had been there'.
Tell them....do it NOW!

I didn't know Antony Cox, but I feel for his family and his friends in their time of loss. R.I.P Antony Cox.

This is so so true Margaret well done for saying it
and in such a nice way

this made me smile, i will shout of Reece sometimes and he knows exactly what i'm going to say to him, i'll shout 'Reece' and he'll say 'love you too mum', he's either psychic or i tell him i love him more than enough times in a day
