The camera thing.

I phoned the company today who are dealing with the valuation for the insurance claim.......I'd had a letter about the £60 excess on the policy.......anyway to cut a long story short, thet told me not to try and pay this until the claim is sorted to my satisfaction.

I asked if they knew what kind of camera I would be looking at....they couldn't tell me except that it would be a 'like for like' replacement......that's the rub.....this camera is only 4.3 megapixels and there is nothing much like that on the market.

Looking at cameras made me reassess the kind of new camera that I want.
I do plan to buy one other than this replacement from the insurance......and I had sort of set my heart on a digital SLR.....though I am not entirely sure I could hack the technicalities (daughter says that i am making problems where none exist - I have managed other technical equipment before in the past......she says).
I have begun to look at 'bridge' cameras......these are a bit more flexible in what they will do than a compact digital, but not as flexible as a digital SLR...and maybe not as hard to get to grips with using.
Where am I going with this post......I hear you ask?
Well, it seems the more I look and check things out, the less sure I become.
Is too much choice bad.....should I just print all the ones I like (or think I could put to good use)onto a sheet of paper and use the pin technique?......or should I just go with gut instinct and hope for the best?
Or maybe I should just go for the digital SLR and trust that I will be capable of working it all out.

I'm sure that you will be more than capable of sussing it out. Go for the camera that you want, you only live once and can't put a price on memories.

Cashy, hubby's suit was made for him by Loofe's in Peel Street Accrington....and was grey silk......not the best for travelling as it creased like billy ho.
